Jewellery is a woman’s first love, but like all precious things your favourite trinkets also need some care. If not cared for appropriately your beloved jewels can easily ruin, which is why you need to avoid certain activities while wearing them.
Read on to find out what not to do while wearing jewellery:
1. ALWAYS WEARING ORNAMENTS
Customarily people tend to adorn rings, bangles, chains or other beloved pieces all the time because there’s some sentimental value attached to them. When it comes to engagement rings and mangalsutras you may have to wear them every day, but is it necessary to wear them ALL the time?
Be kind to your beloved jewels and avoid wearing them while sleeping, bathing or doing household chores like dish washing.
2. SWIMMING
Just like everywhere else you want to look fab when you hit the pool or the beach, so it’s quite obvious why you’d want to don a few trinkets. However, before taking your valuable pieces for a dive you should think twice. Why you ask? For two simple reasons:
First - if you lose a piece of jewellery in a pool or at the beach, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to find it.
Second – If you have a habit of wearing your jewellery while swimming in due course of time the chlorine present in water may tarnish your silver jewellery.
3. WORKING OUT
Wearing jewellery while you are at the gym is a bad idea for more reasons than one. To begin with, it can be a health hazard. A misplaced trinket may get stuck in some gym equipment, which may cause serious damage. Besides that, wearing jewellery while working out may result in denting of mountings. What's more, the gemstones embellished on your jewellery may even become dull from perspiration.
